As stated above, the Modern Mystery School believe that you should always take care of your body – eat healthily, exercise regularly and take note of your health. We each only get one body in which to live our lives – so it is vital for our dreams, ambitions and work that we protect it from harm and keep it strong enough to accomplish our goals in this life!
A Duty to Ourselves and Those We Love
Our first duty in looking after our body is to ourselves; and our second is to those we care about. By looking after our physical health, we ensure that we will be strong enough to manifest our desires, act in accordance with our goals, and achieve what we want out of life! Our great work cannot be accomplished if we die early from bad health; and it cannot be accomplished if we are not fit enough to do it.
Don’t think that this excludes those with different abilities or physical restrictions – at the Modern Mystery School, we believe that everyone has incredible value and incredible potential. We must all work with what we have, which is all the more reason to take care of our physical health.
Ways to Look After Your Body
There is a lot of debate about how best to look after the body – just look on any fitness website or health forum to see huge amounts of conflict surrounding best practices! It can become very complicated, which intimidates many people, or makes it seem impossibly hard to find the results we want, but in truth, good health couldn’t be simpler: eat healthily, exercise, meditate, and care for your chakras.
Healthy eating may have become an industry in recent years, but you don’t need a strict diet plan or a meal-prep service to have a healthy, nutritious and nourishing diet. Take care to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables (particularly green leafy vegetables), drink lots of water and try to stay away from heavy saturated fats, processed sugars and too much alcohol. All of these things can act to destabilise the body, bringing on cycles of unhealthy eating and cravings – which is why unhealthy foods can seem so addictive!
Even if it seems difficult at first, stick with it – before long, you’ll feel so good that you won’t crave unhealthy, polluting foods any more!
Exercise can be as simple as a walk around a green park or as intense as an ultramarathon, but no matter the level you choose to strive for, the benefits are incredible. Meditating isn’t often seen on fitness forums, but its health benefits are undeniable.
